Hello teachers, counselors, and education professionals!

Want to bring A Different Book to your classroom? DonorsChoose may be able to help. I've created two free, customizable project templates—one for adding the book to your classroom resources and another for funding a copy for every student. Jump to the links.

While A Different Book would make for a great addition to any classroom library, it also pairs well with themed weeks, such as "The Week of Respect." I have even used the book as a hook to introduce the order of operations- out with the old reading from left to right, and in with following steps.

A Different Book. It's fun to be different.
It's fun to be Different. The book where the end is in the middle.

Use the links to make a copy of the Google Doc to make any changes you need. DonorsChoose project one includes A Different Book in with other items (some suggestions offered) to help celebrate what makes students different. The second project requests books for every student. I love this second option because kids will definitely want to get their hands on the book to see how it works. Taking the book home will be a lasting reminder that being different is something positive.

Don't forget I offer a free educator guide with discussion questions and activities. Please feel free to pair the book with any of your favorite activities on being different, accepting others, creativity, or even math.

P.S. You can also add A Different Book to your Amazon wish list.
